Home Math Tutoring Computer Training About Us

Basic Training Educational Services LLC was founded in August 2006 in Sierra Vista, Arizona.  A need was perceived for affordable, individualized and small group training in both computers and tutoring.  Basic Training was the answer to that need.

Carolyn McLain is the owner and CEO of Basic Training.  Carolyn's original training was in Math Education, although she later received a BS in Computer Science and an MS in Telecommunications Management.  She is currently pursuing a Small Business Entrepreneur certification at Cochise College.  A dedicated instructor, Carolyn has been an Associate Faculty with Cochise College for 20 years.  Carolyn now splits her time between the college and providing math tutor services to the community through Basic Training.

Mike McLain is the CIO and computer coach of Basic Training.  Mike's education includes AS and BS degrees in Computer Science and an MS degree in Information Systems Engineering.  Mike also earned Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Microsoft Certified System Engineers + Internet (MCSE + I) certifications back in the days of Windows NT 4.0.    Mike is currently employed as a computer networking professional, and splits his remaining time between teaching basic and advanced computer technology courses at Cochise College and at University of Arizona South and providing personal computer coaching services to the community through Basic Training.

Both Carolyn and Mike are active in community organizations such as Toastmasters International, Chamber of Commerce, and Better Business Bureau.
